Daewoo Musiro Concept Car Revealed at the British Motor Show
Daewoo have reinforced their commitment to design with the new Musiro concept shown at the British Motor Show. Despite having to contend with delayed and reduced wages, the design team at Daewoo have shown they still value their role and are determined to take the brand forward in terms of design and styling.
The car was designed and engineered in the UK at Daewoo's Worthing Technical Centre and follows on from the Mirea concept of 1999 which was also a product of Worthing. The Musira takes the format of a four-seat coupe aimed to compete with the Audi TT and Hyundai Tiburan/Coupe.
The fully opening roof allows the Musiro to take the form of a convertible, whilst the hard roof sections drop innovatively into the boot leaving a large usable space. Power and drivetrain come in the form of a 200bhp straight-six connected to a semi-automatic gearbox driving the front wheels. Performance will be a top speed of 250kph, 0-100kph in 7.9 seconds.
The seats are constructed in a way to minimise their impact on the overall interior space and are designed, along with other interior features and instrumentation to be flexible. Daewoo refer to this as VSC (versatile sportscar concept).
Designed to be produced on an existing platform for reduced development costs and increased production feasibility, the Musiro could see production as early as April 2002. |
