The 2000 Coventry Transport Design Graduate Show
This year's show was held between Friday 16th and Wednesday 21st of June. Friday opened as a preview night for members of the press and interested industries. The display of work included that of the four-year and three-year courses. The three-year course leads to a BA qualification, whilst the four-year course incorporates a year's placement and results in an MDes qualification.
Students were placed with a wide range of companies including Mercedes-Benz, Rover, Alias Wavefront, Jordan Grand Prix, Volkswagen and Lotus. The Coventry show is probably the largest annual show in the world of transport designers' work. There was a great range of ideas reflected in an even greater range of styles - from the organic and smooth to the mechanical and precise. For their final project, each student was required to research a need and develop a solution in response. |
