Craig Morrison – UK

"Garden of Eden
The aim of the project is to raise auto industry awareness that large wood body panels can have a positive environmental impact. I intend
to create a car using sustainable materials, built in a sustainable way, in consideration of a design with the minimum number of parts and
minimum wastage. This car has been designed to be built and will also have a positive impact on the local community, promoting craftsmanship, creating jobs for underused skilled workers.
This project will display wood in a new light, introducing advances in veneer and plywood bending techniques that make it possible to
create double curvature. Though research focuses on a vehicle reflecting the ethos of surfers, the outcome must strongly emphasise sustainable design for the general population. It will be an affordable
product that can and should inspire the automobile industry to adapt sustainable solutions to any vehicle. With the right implementation, this would be a product that inspires and revolutionises the way automobile body panels are made.
